About the center
Mission Statement
The Center is tasked with the provisioning of all essential hardware and software resources required for language instruction and acquisition throughout the university. Our responsibilities include the planning and management of specialized language laboratories and instructional equipment, the facilitation of diverse language learning activities both within and beyond the campus, and the operation of a Self-Access Language Learning Center. This facility is provided to encourage students' extracurricular, independent study, with the ultimate objective of fostering their interest and enhancing their proficiency in foreign languages.
Curriculum Design
The Center is principally responsible for the curriculum design of the university-wide mandatory English program, as well as elective courses within the specialized field of Language and Culture. The mandatory English program utilizes a placement-based, multi-level instructional model with an emphasis on establishing robust foundational competencies and reinforcing practical application. This approach is designed to comprehensively develop students' proficiencies in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Furthermore, the curriculum is augmented by relevant preparatory materials for standardized English proficiency examinations to assist students in achieving successful outcomes on various language certification assessments.
