Article 1: In accordance with the "Shih Chien University Regulations for English Course Enrollment," the Shih Chien University Kaohsiung Campus (hereinafter referred to as "the Campus") establishes the "Shih Chien University Kaohsiung Campus Day Division English Course Enrollment Rules" (hereinafter referred to as "these Rules").
Article 2: These Rules apply to undergraduate students of the Day Division in non-Applied English departments at the Campus who enrolled in or after the 2014 academic year.
Article 3: University-wide English course names, credits, and related enrollment regulations:
For students enrolled from the 2021 academic year onwards, the semester allocation for University English is as follows:

University English (1), (2), (3), and (4) operate on a semester-based blocking system; students must pass each course in sequence before being eligible to enroll in the next stage. For example, a student who fails University English (1) must first retake and pass it before they can enroll in University English (2). A student who fails University English (2) must first retake and pass it before enrolling in University English (3), and so on for subsequent courses.
Students of the Department of Applied English are not permitted to cross-register for University English (1), (2), (3), or (4).
Article 4: University English Course Description:
• University English (1) and (2) are taught in leveled classes (A, B, C) based on students' entrance exam scores.
• University English (3) and (4) are taught in leveled classes (A, B) based on students' mock TOEIC test scores.
• Students retaking University English courses can register through the online system but may not cross-register for courses in the Division of Continuing Education.
• Students taking University English courses who are identified by their instructors as needing to strengthen their foundational English skills may participate in supplementary English (online) courses planned by the Language Center. These courses are free of charge, and the results may be incorporated into the semester grade for University English (1), (2), (3), and (4).
• Course exemptions and credit transfers are handled in accordance with the university's "Implementation Rules for English Course Exemption".
• In accordance with Article 2 of the "Shih Chien University Regulations for English Course Enrollment," the University English proficiency benchmarks are as follows:

Article 5: These enrollment rules shall be implemented after being passed by the Language Center Curriculum Committee meeting and the meeting of committees under the Common Curriculum Committee. The same procedure applies to any amendments.
